Carers Trust is a major charity that helps transform the lives of unpaid carers. It partners with a network of local carer organisations, to provide carers with funding and support.
Alongside the work required for their brand identity, Carers Trust were also looking to have a new website designed. Using our vast experience in working with some of the UK’s top charities on similar projects, Adept were able to offer Carers Trust a complete design and digital package.
Carers Trust
We started the project by holding a series of discovery workshops with Carers Trust to understand the aims of the website, content requirements and the full details of the functionality that needed to be built in.
Following this, we conducted a series of interviews with a number of key stakeholders - carers, the charity's funders, and network partners - to further understand their unique needs from the website.
Using the findings from the discovery workshop and stakeholder interviews, we were able to construct a completely new information architecture and establish the key page elements that would meet the needs of the different content types the website would accommodate.
Having created the charity's new brand, then having the opportunity to bring the new brand online was really exciting for Adept. We wanted the website to be highly visual, establishing Carers Trust as the leading voice for carers in the UK and giving them a solid platform for their vital work.
A big challenge when approaching this website was the need to pull Carers Trust’s Professionals sub-site onto this main site. To accommodate this, Adept created a resource library that would allow the front end user to easily browse the resources, while Carers Trust could easily add to the library in future, whilst retaining the structure of the website.
Since the website's launch it has received high praise from carers and the partner organisations who are part of Carers Trust. We are continuing our work with Carers Trust to develop new and innovative ways to connect better with carers throughout the UK.
However big or small your project is, we’d love to see how we can help your organisation do more good.
